GET TO KNOW THE PLACE
The Umpqua Hot Springs are a group of geothermal springs located along the North Umpqua River in the U.S. state of Oregon at 2,640 feet (800 m) elevation. The hot mineral water emerges from several sources to form a series of cascading pools. Eight pools are available for soaking, the larger having a solid rock bottom and the smaller pools have coarse sand bottoms. The larger is five by eight feet and 110 °F (43 °C), and is covered by a wooden enclosure.
Forest roads and the trail can be affected by snow, storms and closures. Check the Forest Service before heading out. Pool temperatures vary.

The access road normally closes in winter, adding about 2.5 miles to travel on foot, skis or snowshoes. Conditions farther along can be icy even if the gate area is clear. Check current alerts and navigation requirements.
The published day-use fee is USD 5 per vehicle; eligible displayed passes waive it. Vault toilets are listed, but potable water is unavailable. Check current cashless-payment instructions and pack out rubbish.
These gaps are worth checking if they affect your trip.
