GET TO KNOW THE PLACE

A little more about Terme di Castrocaro.

Choose Castrocaro for a structured spa visit rather than a wild outdoor soak. Magiche Acque combines indoor thermal pools, an outdoor pool, a vascular circuit and an optional adults-only sensory area. The wider complex also provides medical thermal treatments and diagnostics; a spa ticket is not a medical treatment booking.

Our editorial take: a practical option for adults who want several bathing experiences in one managed facility. Confirm your ticket inclusions, reserve a time, and use the updated entrance. Families and visitors who need assistance should read the detailed access policies before buying.

Is this your kind of spring?

Official sources reviewed 2026-10-18 · Editorial recommendations

Best for an adult spa day with a choice of pool and heat experiences. The key decisions are half day versus full day, whether to add the sensory circuit, and whether the access rules fit your group.

A good fit for

  • Adults who want pools and sauna facilities in one visit
  • Couples planning a booked wellness break
  • Visitors who prefer a managed spa over a hike to a wild pool

Consider another option for

  • A spontaneous family visit on a weekday
  • Visitors who need unrestricted step-free leisure-pool access
  • Anyone seeking a free natural bathing spot

A historic spa town with a modern day spa

Castrocaro is a thermal complex in Romagna, near Forli. The operator traces therapeutic use of its waters to 1838, a first small spa establishment to 1844, and the larger state thermal establishment to 1938. Today, Magiche Acque is the leisure-spa part of a wider complex that also provides medical thermal services and rehabilitation. Choose the facility and booking that match the kind of visit you want.

Mineral waters and the blue-clay tradition

The operator describes sulphurous and saline-bromine-iodine waters supplied from the local hills and park springs. It also uses local fine blue clay, matured in thermal water for six to nine months, for its mud treatments. These medical and treatment services are separate from a standard pool visit. Ask for the appropriate clinical appointment if a treatment programme is your reason for travelling; a leisure-spa ticket does not establish suitability or include a medical consultation.

Go to the correct entrance

The operator now directs visitors to Via Aristide Conti 3/A. Its homepage explicitly says the old gallery entrance at Viale Marconi 14/16 is no longer accessible. Do not navigate solely from an older directory address. Our map pin remains an approximate destination point; use the operator’s directions for the final approach.

Getting there by road or rail

Use Via Aristide Conti 3/A as the destination. The operator identifies Forli as the railway station and lists approximate driving times of 15 minutes from central Forli, 35 from Cesena, 45 from Ravenna, 50 from Rimini and 55 from Bologna. These are operator estimates, not live traffic predictions. Plan the final connection from Forli station with a current journey planner or the spa; we have not verified a bus number or frequency. The operator identifies Via Conti as the dedicated entrance for visitors with disabilities or reduced mobility and for rehabilitation appointments. That entrance information does not override the separate leisure-spa admission restrictions.

What a visit actually costs

The half-day voucher is listed at €35 and the full-day voucher at €40. That makes a full day only €5 more at the checked prices, but choose the slot you will actually use. The half-day product and full-day product are distinct purchases. Check the current product description and reservation availability together before paying; a gift voucher alone does not establish that your preferred session has space.

Hours, inclusions and the extra charge

Published hours are 10:00–20:00 daily, with half-day sessions at 10:00–15:00 and 15:00–20:00. The final 30 minutes are for changing and departure. Adult admission includes pools, vascular circuit, biosauna, loungers and a robe or towel. The sensory circuit costs €10 extra. Outside food and drinks are prohibited. Reservations are recommended and capacity is limited.

Pick your pool experience

The operator distinguishes the indoor thermal pools, outdoor relaxation pool and a vascular circuit with water at different temperatures, reported as 24–35°C. This is a circuit-specific range, not a measured temperature for every pool. The optional sensory area includes experience showers, a Finnish sauna, steam room and a high-salinity pool reported at 35°C. Book it for a wider variety of experiences rather than assuming it is part of basic entry. The children’s pool is described as no deeper than 50 cm; that does not remove the need for close supervision. We have not published a single headline temperature because that would conceal the differences between pools.

Read the age and mobility rules first

Under-3s are excluded. Ages 3–17 need an accompanying responsible adult and may enter only Saturday 15:00–20:00 or Sunday 10:00–20:00. Under-18s cannot use the sensory circuit or heat rooms. The operator discourages leisure-spa entry for people with mobility difficulties or who are not self-sufficient; an assisted rehabilitation pool is offered by arrangement. Pregnancy is excluded under the published spa rules. Ask the operator about your exact access needs before purchasing.

A sensible first-visit plan

Our planning suggestion

Editorial suggestion: reserve a half day for a first visit unless you want a long break between bathing sessions. First confirm what is operating, then decide whether the sensory supplement is worth it for your group. Allow time to find the Via Conti entrance and check in. A full-day ticket offers flexibility, but does not mean ten hours continuously in hot water. Leave time to change before the session ends. Bring your swimsuit and ask whether footwear, a cap or additional towels are required; those requirements have not been independently confirmed here.

What visitors appreciate—and what to check

Qualitative reading of publicly visible review excerpts, with visits spanning late 2025 to June 2026. Not a complete review export or a representative sample.

Positive mentions

  • Some visitors appreciate the park setting and the variety of spa areas.
  • Staff friendliness receives positive mentions in some accounts, though experiences vary.

Concerns in the sample

  • Several visible accounts raise concerns about changing rooms, maintenance and pool warmth.
  • Some describe booking confusion, reception delays or disappointment with ticket inclusions and value.

Before paying, ask which pools and spa areas are operating, whether your purchase includes the sensory circuit, and whether a date reservation is confirmed. These are visitor reports, not independently inspected conditions; they may predate changes to the facilities.

What we still need to confirm

These gaps are worth checking if they affect your trip.

  • Independent measurements of current pool temperatures
  • Verified parking charges and a step-by-step public transport route
  • Current cancellation and refund conditions for each ticket
  • Required bathing kit beyond the included robe or towel
  • An independent on-site accessibility inspection

Questions before you book

Is a voucher the same as a reservation?

The homepage provides a separate reservation link for voucher holders. Choose a date and time through that portal and keep the confirmation.

What is Castrocaro known for?

Its mineral waters and naturally matured blue-clay mud treatments are part of a long thermal-spa tradition. The Magiche Acque day spa provides leisure bathing, while medical treatments require their own arrangements.
